Body Mass Index (BMI) serves as an indicator of maternal nutritional status and forms the basis for gestational weight gain recommendations. This study aimed to describe gestational weight gain according to BMI standards in the working area of Jak Luay Village Primary Clinic, East Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan Province. An observational descriptive study was conducted from November 1 to 13, 2024. A total of 208 pregnant women were selected using a total sampling technique. Secondary data were collected from medical records using structured data sheets and processed through editing, coding, and tabulating stages. The results revealed that 73 pregnant women (35.0%) achieved gestational weight gain within BMI standards, 104 (50.0%) gained less than the standard, and 31 (15.0%) gained more than the standard. This study concludes that the majority of pregnant women had gestational weight gain below BMI standards, which was influenced by maternal age, educational level, employment status, and Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC).
Siti Asiyah Ahsanudin, Tintin Hariyani Copyright (c) 2026 Proceedings of the National Health Scientific Publication Seminar https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://spikesnas.khkediri.ac.id/SPIKesNas/index.php/MOO/article/view/336 Fri, 14 Aug 2026 00:00:00 -0400 Maternal Implementation of Feeding Rules and Its Relationship with Toddler Nutritional Status https://spikesnas.khkediri.ac.id/SPIKesNas/index.php/MOO/article/view/334
Feeding rules are structured toddler feeding guidelines recommended by the Indonesian Pediatric Society (IDAI) to overcome eating difficulties. Mothers should implement feeding rules to support adequate nutritional intake and foster healthy eating behaviors in toddlers. This study aimed to analyze the correlation between mothers' implementation of feeding rules and toddler nutritional status. An analytical correlational study with a cross-sectional approach was conducted from May 18 to May 31, 2026, in Kunjang Village, Kunjang District, Kediri Regency. A sample of 33 mothers of toddlers was selected using a simple random sampling technique. Research instruments included questionnaires and secondary data from Maternal and Child Health (KIA) handbooks. Univariate statistical tests used percentages, while bivariate analysis utilized the Spearman Rank correlation test (rho). The results revealed that most mothers (66.7%, n=22) demonstrated adequate implementation of feeding rules, and the majority of toddlers (69.7%, n=23) had normal nutritional status. Spearman's rho test yielded a p-value = 0.000 < 0.05, rejecting H0 and accepting Ha, confirming a significant relationship between mothers' feeding rule behavior and toddler nutritional status. The correlation coefficient of 0.840 indicated a strong positive relationship. Consistent implementation of feeding rules plays a crucial role in establishing healthy dietary habits and optimizing toddler nutritional status.
Wahyu Nuraisya Copyright (c) 2026 Proceedings of the National Health Scientific Publication Seminar https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://spikesnas.khkediri.ac.id/SPIKesNas/index.php/MOO/article/view/334 Fri, 14 Aug 2026 00:00:00 -0400 Fire Self-Rescue Education and Portable Fire Extinguisher Simulation among Youth Red Cross Members at SMAN 1 Purwoasri https://spikesnas.khkediri.ac.id/SPIKesNas/index.php/MOO/article/view/342
Fire hazards in school environments pose severe risks to safety and infrastructure if students lack appropriate self-rescue and fire response skills. Reproductive health education is one of the promotive and preventive strategies to increase adolescent understanding so that they are able to make the right decisions in maintaining their reproductive health. Community service activities were carried out at SMPN 1 Bakung, Bakung District, Blitar Regency from May 8-14, 2026, involving 20 students as respondents. Education was provided through interactive lectures, discussions, and question and answer methods using presentation media and leaflets. Evaluation was carried out using a pre-test and post-test design to measure changes in participants' knowledge levels before and after education. All participants participated in the activity until completion. The evaluation results showed an increase in student knowledge after receiving education, as indicated by an increase in the average post-test score compared to the average pre-test score. Participants also showed enthusiasm during the discussion and were able to re-explain material on reproductive health, pubertal changes, how to care for reproductive organs, and preventing risky behavior. Reproductive health education has been proven effective in increasing adolescent knowledge as a first step in forming healthy attitudes and behaviors. Providing information appropriate to the characteristics of adolescents' ages and the use of interactive learning methods contributed to increased participant understanding. This activity is expected to support promotive and preventive efforts in preventing risky behavior in adolescents in the school environment.
Dwi Ertiana, Brivian Florentis Yuhbaba, Dintya Ivantarina Copyright (c) 2026 Proceedings of the National Health Scientific Publication Seminar https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://spikesnas.khkediri.ac.id/SPIKesNas/index.php/MOO/article/view/332 Fri, 14 Aug 2026 00:00:00 -0400 Correlation Between Parental Eating Behavior and Picky Eating Behavior https://spikesnas.khkediri.ac.id/SPIKesNas/index.php/MOO/article/view/340
Picky eating behavior among preschool-aged children is a critical nutritional concern that can lead to micronutrient deficiencies and stunting. Parental eating behavior plays a fundamental role in shaping children's eating habits through parental modeling. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between parental eating behavior and picky eating behavior in children aged 5–6 years at RA Raudhatul Huda, Mojokerto Regency. A quantitative correlational design with a cross-sectional approach was conducted. The study population comprised 49 children, from which a sample of 35 respondents was selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using structured demographic questionnaires and the Child Eating Behavior Questionnaire (CEBQ) completed by mothers, then analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation test. The results demonstrated a statistically significant relationship between parental eating behavior and child picky eating behavior (p = 0.032 < 0.05), with a weak positive correlation coefficient (r = 0.364). Although parental eating behavior contributes to children's food habits via modeling, the weak correlation indicates that in children aged 5–6 years, eating behavior becomes increasingly influenced by complex biological, psychological, and social environmental factors. Picky eating behavior in preschool children is a multidimensional outcome resulting from interactions between child temperaments, parental feeding practices, and social development.
didit damayanti Copyright (c) 2026 Proceedings of the National Health Scientific Publication Seminar https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://spikesnas.khkediri.ac.id/SPIKesNas/index.php/MOO/article/view/340 Fri, 14 Aug 2026 00:00:00 -0400 Elderly Gymnastics (Stretching Exercise) Using the McKenzie Extension Exercise Method to Reduce Low Back Pain in the Elderly https://spikesnas.khkediri.ac.id/SPIKesNas/index.php/MOO/article/view/337
The elderly are a group that is vulnerable to experiencing low back pain (LBP) due to degenerative processes that cause decreased muscle elasticity and joint flexibility. This condition has an impact on decreased activity and quality of life. This activity aims to provide Stretching Exercise training using the McKenzie Extension Exercise (MEE) method to reduce pain levels in the elderly with low back pain (LBP). PkM activities are carried out by providing education and demonstrations/exercises directly to the elderly to reduce back pain due to the aging process. The activity was carried out for 3 days, on September 2-4, 2025 in Darungan Village, Pare District, Kediri Regency. Participants were 29 elderly people. The results of the activity were measurements of pain responses from the exercises and education that had been provided. Before being given training, there were 26 elderly people/89.7% who experienced back pain on a moderate scale (4-6) and after being given the intervention there were 21 elderly people/72.4% who experienced back pain on a moderate scale (4-6). This exercise reduces compression on the spinal nerve roots, increases blood flow, and improves lower back muscle function. The McKenzie Extension Exercise (MEE) can help increase muscle strength such as the spine-forming muscles, multifidus, lower back muscles, gluteal muscles and hamstrings, improve posture, and reduce pressure on lumbar nerves such as the L4, L5, and S1 nerves. Stretching Exercise using the McKenzie Extension Exercise (MEE) method is effective in reducing low back pain in the elderly. Regular exercise as a non-pharmacological intervention in elderly care can reduce Low Back Pain (LBP) and increase independence in the elderly.
Nurul Laili, Ratna Hidayati, Farida Hayati Copyright (c) 2026 Proceedings of the National Health Scientific Publication Seminar https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://spikesnas.khkediri.ac.id/SPIKesNas/index.php/MOO/article/view/337 Fri, 14 Aug 2026 00:00:00 -0400 Effectiveness of AR-Based GENIUS (Gadget Education for Smart Use) on Gadget Usage among Children https://spikesnas.khkediri.ac.id/SPIKesNas/index.php/MOO/article/view/335
The increasing use of gadgets among school-aged children poses negative impacts, including reduced learning concentration and digital addiction.
